that worked out well

I got to the show tonight and it turns out that Enlou dropped so they asked us if we could play. so even though our afternoon show got rained out we got to play. it was H&M's last show and LP's second to last. i'm extremely glad we got to rock out with them. H&M played the best I'd ever seen them. what a good night.

we played a show last night and it was pretty stellar. kind of a young crowd but it was fun. it was down in Carmel with our friends All of the Above. they are so tight. then we were supposed to play in Hartford this afternoon but it got canceled and no one told us. i love it when that happens. whatever... i'll just get myself pumped for SpringHill.

paint and music

we practiced yesterday and it was a lot of fun. i think we have the new song done. score. it just needs to be cleaned up a bit. today i went over to tyler's and organized the basement. it looks a lot better now and we'll have more room to practice and stuff. i also painted my neighbor's chimney. am i awesome or what?

i got back from Lolla... hung out with tyler, cabby, and lucas.... got a bunch of crap done on this computer for the band and stuff... and now i'm ready to pass out. it's been such a crazy weekend. i can hardly believe it. i will write a full recap of Lolla as soon as i'm feeling up to it. i just can't stay awake much longer.... goodnight.

i went to the rodeo show today and it was tight. way too hot and too expensive, but awesome none the less. ITFOW was crazy and fun, Darkroom was great, Alexander was a pleasant surprise, and Rodeo was incredible. absolutely incredible. it was a good night.

practice was good today. we have some awesome new parts. tyler writes some of the most difficult stuff i've ever heard. he has to practice it for weeks before he can even play it well. cabby's new drum set has given him new energy and the song sound better than ever. we're getting pretty good.

i leave for chicago in less than 3 days. heck yes. and i only have 2 days of work left. i'm stoked about that. i need to get paid though. i'm running out of money.... and the school year hasn't even started yet!! this is bad... haha.

contadictions

it's funny how i talked about my messed up history yesterday and today i revisited some of it that i probably shouldn't have revisited. i didn't do anything i will ever regret, but i definitely brought the temptation upon myself. i'm glad i didn't act on any of my feelings though. high five for me.

practice tomorrow. i'm so pumped i want to play music so badly. and i want to write new stuff but i've been having music-writer's block lately. i hope it lifts soon.

so true. i was thinking today about how messed up my past is and it is quite something to think about. some of it i'd rather not remember but oh well... everyone has those times i guess. all i know for certain right now is that I like Colombia and i love Modest Mouse.

new drums

i just bought a new drum set today. it's a Gretsch Blackhawk with 10", 12", and 14" toms. totally rad. it's going to be used as the band drum set which is crazy because it's better than mine at home!! haha. oh well. it was worth it and i guess it's a great 20th birthday present for Cabby!

i'm trying to stay awake until my paper route. bleh. another hour and a half to go.

i went to Keith's party last night. it was a good time. Nate called me at one point and we talked for 20 minutes about his crazy life. i feel sorry for him. i'm glad i'm not caught up in that much drama. no one should have to go through that stuff.
i might be hanging out with Annie and Colombia today. that would be tight. and then Saturday Colombia and i are going shopping for snacks and such for our Chicago trip. i'm pumped.
practice wasn't bad. we wrote some new stuff that was pretty stellar. i think we have some potential for future goodness. i really need to work on writing new lyrics. i've been slacking lately.

wow... today was incredible hanging out with Colombia. she's tons of fun. i'm only half looking forward to tomorrow. we have band practice but i'm afraid it's going to be all drama. lucas is going to be mad at everyone over the new song. he seems to hate the new stuff we're doing. i thought this band was going to last one more year... maybe not.

i write to no one. i know this very well. no one will read this because i haven't told anyone about it. i like it that way. i can write whatever i want.

i think The Quality Object is incredible right now. the best it's ever been and getting better by the practice. Zach, Tyler and I all feel the same but Lucas isn't happy. i don't know what to do about it because he wants to be something so much different. every weeks his ideas change and we can't change the band just to keep up with his mindset. i don't know what to do about it...

on a lighter not i'm going to Indy today. i'm going with Colombia so it should be a grand time. we'll go visit her school, Butler, and then we're going to hit up the zoo i believe. i have my paper route in an hour so i think i'm going to try and get some rest. i will end up with one 4 hours of sleep tonight no matter what... how crummy.
